Barb’s own calling was distinct and very personal. In the spring of 1990, she heard Luci Swindoll speak about “following your dream by exploring your giftedness and asking God to reveal how He would want those gifts used.” Barb recalls the moment when Luci gave everyone an opportunity to respond to the call of God on their lives and on their giftedness: “As I bowed my head in silence, I knew in my heart of hearts that I was called to sing and share about God’s working in my life. And I left that weekend with a new excitement and expectation for what God was going to do in and through me.”
Music - A Doorway to Praise
Today, God continues to use Barb’s gift of music and inspiration to move audiences to greater understanding of who He is and what is trying to do in their individual lives. Whether performing at regional women’s gatherings or retreats, at church concerts, or at the Minnesota State Republican Convention, her goal remains: To bring each person into a close encounter with the living God. And to send them home knowing that he has a ‘calling’ on their own gifts. “Music is the doorway to praise,” she often says.
